NICO AGUSTIN'S CREATIONS

Thanks to Stephen Mortera for assisting me here and for all the help especially for bringing all the clothes. To Mr. Kevin Soriano for giving us a time to model the clothes of Sir Nico Agustin. Again, my deepest thank you to Sir Nico for trusting me and Stephen. God bless!

BACK WHERE YOU BELONG

It really took a while before I came up with this write-up. Quite frankly, I ran out of words to tell the story of this project.

As far as I can recall, I planned the shoot with Edmir Lagui, stylist of Sir Ulysses King. My peg was the TV show Vampire Diaries since I'm fond of watching the series. I could probably use a little chic style for the lady model. This was my first time to work with Sir Edmir. He is so witty and always has a joke to crack! I absolutely had fun working with him. In addition, I greatly admire his creativitiy. I feel so blessed having had the chance to work with him. Most of his accessories used during the shoot were all new. I look forward to work with Sir Edmir again hopefully before the year ends or early January 2012.

BENEATH HER COLORS

I will never forget this shoot. Do you know why? It's because of all the challenges that I had to go through to survive it.

Our make-up artist did not show up and we couldn't reach him through his cellphone because he didn't have one at that time. (His mobile phone was stolen. God bless the culprit's soul.) We still pushed through and went straight to ANTIPOLO to pull out the clothes from the designer.

It was the first time that I met our designer, MARK DELA PENA. He is so kind and generous that after our shoot we became good friends. It's a blessing that Richard Visco, my co-photographer, is very familiar with the place and knew some spots for the shoot. It was raining then and I obviously had a hard time particularly with the lighting. While were shooting, I was shocked to find lots of insects running through my legs. We decided to stop for a while so I could I go wash my feet.

I went home around 11pm and my feet were so itchy. When I woke up, I saw lots of rashes on my legs. Right then and there, I knew I couldn't make it to work that night. I ran off to De La Salle Hospital to see a Dermatologist. She gave me some soap and cream to ease the pain and itchiness. It cost me a lot and it left a mark on my skin. (Tears.) Lessons learned: 1) Don't wear shorts during a photo shoot and 2) Apply some insect repellent while shooting.

COZY VIXEN

I first had a chance to work with Anjella Tan back in April 2009. I was simply assisting my good friend Ohsie Austria with her shoot. While holding the reflector, I took a shot of Anjella using my my point-and-shoot back then, a Sony digital camera.

I was stunned when I saw her pose and look at the camera. Her height and beautiful features will really make a lot of models envious. I told myself that when I acquire my own DSLR, I will definitely contact her for a shoot. Exactly two years later, in April of this year, I got a chance to photograph her again.

Angela was nothing short of impressive. Despite the number of people watching us during the shoot, she still managed to pose without hesitation nor inhibition as if nobody were around. Truly, she is one amazing pro.

Cozy Vixen is one of my favorite albums. The styling and make up were made great by the talented Sharie Anahaw.

BREAKING FREE

Meet Lucas Raven -- an international model who has posed for United Colors of Benetton, TOPMAN, and a lot more. He is a very professional model and a humble person. I can say that I learned a lot from him. Before our shoot, he shared with me his modelling experiences, how he became a model, and also gave me some helpful tips in FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY.

LET ME SEE

Let me see Lord the little things that used to bring so much joy in my heart. Let me not feel sorry for myself anymore for I am lifting all that burdens me to you. I lift and offer everything to you and I ask you to be with me today and everyday of my life.

RENAISSANCE

This is my most controversial photo to date. My church leader asked me delete the photo right after seeing it online. He said he received unsolicited message from one of our church members who shared negative feedback and reaction. I explained my side -- that the photo shows the victory of women over men. It does not promote sex, eroticism, or pornography. For me, it is artful and definitely one that is done in good taste. And besides, I did not post the photo in our group page or anywhere else. Up to this day, the photo just resides in my blogsite.

BOHO CHIC

In July 2010, I studied a Basic Photography course at FPPF in Intramuros. On our last day, all students were required to submit STILL LIFE and PORTRAITURE photos for a contest as one of the requirements for completion. I asked Gemmabel Paralisan, a colleague in Integra to help me out and be my model for the said project. Both of us were excited! We thought of a concept right away and ended up with BOHO CHIC.

The location is in my hometown in Dasmarinas. I always traverse along this certain street when travelling and every time see this old Volkswagen, I'll always tell myself that I'd like to bring a model and shoot with this car. So I invited Mike Magsino, a fellow photographer, to shoot with me and Gemma for my project.

Thanks to all my classmates who voted for my photo as the best shot for Portraiture.

Thanks too to all the judges for commending me and saying that I'll be a GOOD FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER someday.

FASHION GEEK | Published in MODEXY Edition 15

Fashion Geek is my first attempt to be part of MODEXY magazine. I'm so grateful to Sir Chris dela Cruz (Editor-in-Chief) for believing in my art.

When I shot this project with Franco, I didn't have any intention to send this to MODEXY MAGAZINE until a good friend of mine, Zhey Anzures suggested that I send this to Sir Chris. So I asked Zhey and Bethoven to help me with the lay-out.

I feel blessed that when I sent this to sir Chris he accepted and posted it on his online magazine. :)

FLAUNT | Published in MODEXY Magazine

ModeXY is an online magazine that showcases Filipino creativity through MALE FASHION and GLAMOUR PHOTOGRAPHY. The site was owned by Sir Chris Dela Cruz. Later on, it was bought by a foreigner whom i really don't know. I was blessed to be part of this magazine. FLAUNT is my second entry. It's really an honor for me to be one of the contributors of this magazine.

Thanks to all who helped me in this project. Especially my models, SHAYAN & DOI, and of course, our make-up artist -- AUDIE VEE.

WHO CARES

I love this photo! Some may not like it but I don't care. WHO CARES?

SANCTUARY

"The whole value of solitude depends upon one's self; it may be a SANCTUARY or a prison, a haven of repose or a place of punishment, a heaven or a hell, as we ourselves make it.”
